Utility billing platform for an estate management company. Tenants pay by M-Pesa PayBill or by dialling *519*56#, the payment is detected instantly over Safaricom C2B, and a water, electricity or gas token reaches the tenant by SMS in under 3 seconds. Per-estate PayBills, automatic landlord payouts with commission deducted, and monthly reports per tenant and per meter.
The story
Our client manages hundreds of rental units across several estates. Every month, utility billing ran through one person: tenants calling at odd hours, tokens sent by hand, payments tracked on spreadsheets. The landlord was the single point of failure for every transaction, and the business needed a system that could run without them.
RentalLink takes the person out of the loop. A tenant pays by M-Pesa PayBill or over USSD on any phone, Safaricom C2B confirms the payment, and the right token for that tenant's meter goes out by SMS in under 3 seconds. Each estate collects into its own PayBill, so money lands directly in the client's account, and payouts run automatically with the commission already deducted. Today the client runs 200+ units across multiple properties with zero billing interruptions.

Landlord payouts run on their own, with the management commission deducted before they go out.
